As a professional fundraiser with over 15 years of experience, Jill has worked with a diverse array of organizations, and has raised millions of dollars in service of their respective missions and visions. She has directed fundraising strategy as a team of one, and as a team leader, collaborating with and managing all types of stakeholders, including donors, board members, clientele, corporations, institutional and governmental partners, and philanthropic entities. She has worked with organizations that have been around a century, as well as start-ups, organizations of five people and organizations of 150. She has worked from the ground up as an entry-level Development Associate, and was most recently a VP of Development.
Jill’s degrees are from Mills College (BA), and San Francisco State University (MPA.) She has volunteered for many nonprofit and civic organizations, including the regional board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and as a grantmaker for both a local giving circle and a municipal board. She is an alumni of Leadership Oakland, LEAP Impact, Coro’s Women in Leadership Program, and the Executive Leadership Program of the AAJA (Asian American Journalists Association.) Oakland, California is home, and where she lives with her son, partner, and rescue dog.

Jill Kunishima was the first development professional to be brought on for Peralta Colleges Foundation during my tenure as Executive Director.
